Hello everyone, first post here. I came across this Vogue. It has been offered to me and i haven't decided whether should i restore it or break it for parts and sell it on ebay.

Instruments read 19100 kilometres, it was owned by and army officer and the car has been standing since the late 80s. That's what his widow said.She also said that it was parked with the engine running. Oil level is good, engine is turning.

Interior is EXCELLENT(apart from the lacquer chipping on the wood inserts), only real problem are the sills.

So my question is, do i break it and list the parts on ebay?(provided there is interest for parts on these cars)
Or keep it and either sell it complete or restore it later on?

Damn shame it has perished so much but a look at the floor pan would be good. Going on what I see it looks pretty far gone as far as rust goes so breaking might be your best option. Why does it have Leyland badges on it? It's up to you but unless your really going to go for a major resto then as I said break it and you should make at least £500 - £700 on bits.

Floor pan looks above average, i also checked underneath the rear seats, it's also good
so far it looks like it's only the sills and the front left quarter panel.
Wife loved the looks, she even suggested using it for the school run and the trip to the shops if i restore it
500-700 pounds is not bad, it's just that the car is not missing anything apart from the steering wheel and this gets me thinking,Asking price is 500 euros btw.
Will think a lot about it today.


The BL badge is there because the importer at the time was also the BL importer. Therefore he stuck BL badges to everything British he imported....
He was also the Mercedes importer but i have yet to see a Merc with a BL badge...

To be honest, I am not sure how many buyers you would find for the parts in Greece. If the car was in the UK, you should make the amounts quoted, but I would imagine that there aren't many people in your country interested in Rootes Parts? Shipping costs would be prohibitive for most parts you'd get value from.

I'd have a go at restoring it.

You would have no problem selling stuff in Malta as there are lots of Rootes fans there and the postage I guess would not be expensive from Greece. Just a thought.
